Happy Saturday, Huskie families and community members! It certainly feels like winter is here to stay after our first snow day and weather delay this week, and we want to sincerely thank you for your patience and flexibility, especially as our Transportation and Maintenance teams work hard to keep our campus and routes safe. Despite the weather interruptions, this week has been a fantastic showcase of hands-on and memorable learning experiences, with our staff providing engaging, meaningful opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Please find all the highlights and upcoming events in this week's edition of Huskie Happenings. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, stay warm, and Go Huskies! 💙💛🐾

Huskie Coaches and Athletes of the Month! 🐾

This month we have a very special shoutout for our coaches, as we had 2 coaches receive honors for their work during the Fall season!

We are thrilled to recognize Kya Horman, our JV Volleyball Coach, for being voted Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association JV Coach of the Year! Her team had a fantastic season, and Kya led the way with dedication and passion. Kya gives countless hours of her time to our student-athletes, and we appreciate all that she does for Huskie Nation. We are proud to have her represent our program as a true leader. Thank you, Kya, for your efforts and contributions to the Huskies!

We are also proud to recognize Isaac Gregory, our Regional Coach of the Year in Division 1 8-player football! Isaac is a hardworking individual who has dedicated countless hours to the youth of the Breckenridge community and our football program. He has been a part of this program for over a decade and was a Huskie player himself. A Huskie through and through, we are proud to call him our coach. Thank you, Isaac, for your commitment to our student-athletes and the community. Keep up the amazing work! Proud to be a Huskie.

And our amazing athletes of the month, Holli Trotter and Noah Barr!

Great job to Coach Horman, Coach Gregory, Holli, and Noah! Keep up that Huskie spirit as we move into the winter season!

🎵 Middle School Solo & Ensemble Success! 🎵 Today our middle school musicians took the stage all by themselves to perform at Solo & Ensemble Festival — and they absolutely crushed it. We had 9 solo performances: ⭐ 8 earned a Division 1 rating — the highest score possible ⭐ 1 earned a Division 2 rating — the second-highest score (Scored on a scale of 1–5) Peyton Stone - 2 Amiyah Warner - 1 Liliana Larkin - 1 Gabriella Weigold - 1 Sophia Burleson - 1 Madelyn Howes - 1 Taylor Staley - 1 Quynten Sanders - 1 Leland McFall - 1 For students who have only been playing their instruments for 2 or 3 years, this level of musicianship is incredible. Performing alone takes courage, focus, and a ton of hard work — and they showed all of that today. I could not be more proud of these Huskies. Their dedication is real, and it shows. 💛🐾 Huge congratulations to our young musicians! 🎶👏
