Breckenridge Athletics Weekly Update (10/20 - 10/26) 🐾 This week was full of excitement as we celebrated Fall Sports Senior Night! Thank you to all our seniors for your dedication, hard work, and love for Breckenridge High School Athletics. We’ve watched you grow and excel over these four years, and it’s been an honor to share the journey with you. We also want to thank the families for their unwavering support! With fall sports wrapping up, the Cross Country State Finals and Volleyball Districts are just around the corner. Let’s get out there and show our Huskies some love! 💙💛 🏃‍♀️🏆 Cross Country: Regional Champions! 🏆🏃‍♂️ Our Cross Country teams shined at regionals, with the Girls' Team taking home the Regional Championship title and the Boys finishing strong in 4th place! Huge congratulations to Anthony Rowe for qualifying for States as an individual! The girls' team and Anthony will represent us at the MHSAA State Finals on November 2nd—we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next. Though the season closes at 3-6, this team has shown tremendous growth, and the future looks bright for our returning players. Keep that energy going into the offseason! This team has faced a lot of adversity but never backed down. Their commitment and spirit throughout the season are an inspiration. Keep grinding, boys—the future is bright! 📣 Sideline Cheer: Strong Finish! Our cheerleaders ended the season with an incredible final performance, igniting energy on the sidelines! This group has been cheering their hearts out all fall, and now they’re preparing for the competitive season. We’re excited to see what they bring this winter—Go Huskies Cheer! 📣💙💛 🏐 Varsity Volleyball: Senior Night Victory and MSAC Runners-Up! Our volleyball team celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday with a big win over Ashley, taking three straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-11)! Shout-out to these top performers: Liz McCaw: 11 kills Emma Tinson: 5 kills, 4 aces Bonnie Colthorp: 6 kills BayLeigh Clapp: 9 digs Blair Davenport: 18 assists The girls also competed in the MSAC Tournament this weekend, taking 2nd place. They swept Fulton in two sets (25-14, 25-18) before coming up short in the championship against Sacred Heart. Great job, Huskies—let’s keep this momentum going into Districts! Thank you to everyone for an unforgettable week of sports. Let’s keep that Huskies pride going as we cheer on Cross Country and Volleyball in their final competitions! 🐾

Huskies Weekly Report (10/12/24 - 10/19/24) 🐾 🏃‍♀️🏆 Cross Country Champions! 🏆🏃‍♂️ Huge congratulations to our cross country teams for an outstanding season so far! The girls' team dominated the competition to claim the MSAC League Championship, while the boys finished as runners-up in a highly competitive Mid State Activities Conference. The hard work, grit, and determination these athletes have shown is truly inspiring! Here’s how our top performers ranked: 1st Team All-Conference: Anthony Rowe (5th) Danica Aldrich (2nd) Ally Schmitz (3rd) Avery Westall (4th) Nataly Vine (5th) Maizy Matthews (8th) 2nd Team All-Conference: Aimon Humm (14th) Honorable Mention: Dom Chiverton, Noah Barr, Areyel Weiss But they didn’t stop there! This week, the teams traveled to Cadillac, competing against schools from all over. The girls finished 4th out of 29 teams and the boys took 17th out of 31 teams—fantastic results against tough competition. Here are some standout performances from the meet: Anthony Rowe: 30th place (17:32) Danica Aldrich: 18th place with a personal record (20:05) Ally Schmitz: 21st place (20:31) Maizy Matthews: 47th place with a personal record (21:32) Way to go, Huskies XC! You’re making the school proud and showing what it means to compete at the highest level! 🏐 Varsity Volleyball: The varsity volleyball team and Bailey Clapp had a night to remember, sweeping St. Charles in straight sets (25-20, 25-13, 25-17). Bailey surpassed 1,000 career digs—an amazing achievement only a few players in our program have reached. Standout performances included: Liz McCaw: 17 kills, 16 digs Emma Tinson: 7 kills, 2 aces Blair Davenport: 16 assists These girls also took home the championship from the Spirit of Saint Louis Invitational on Saturday! If you haven’t seen them in action, don’t miss their final home game this Tuesday! JV Volleyball: The JV volleyball team fought hard but narrowly lost to St. Charles (26-28, 19-25, 15-12). Top performers: Dasia Denwiddie: 2 aces, 1 kill, 7 assists Leah Wale: 4 aces, 1 assist Jayla Potter: 1 kill, 2 assists Ally Pryor: 4 assists 🏈 Varsity Football: Our Huskies are on a roll, winning their third game in a row with a 47-22 victory over Carson City-Crystal. The team’s perseverance and hard work are paying off as they turn the season around. Highlights of the game: Gavin Corbat: 8/9 passing for 96 yards, 3 TDs; 5 tackles, 2 TFL Maddax McCaw: 10 carries for 167 yards, 1 TD; 8 tackles, 1 TFL Zander Mapes: 12 carries for 72 yards, 2 TDs; 1 catch for a TD; 7 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack Trey Most & Noah Barr: 1 TD reception each Braxton Clapp: 11 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack Keep the momentum going, Huskies! JV Football: Our JV team faced a tough matchup on the road at Gaylord St. Mary’s, falling 36-8. Despite the loss, the boys were back in the weight room the next day, working hard to improve. The future looks bright for those who stay committed! 📣 Sideline Cheer: The cheer team had a special night hosting alumni, and they were electric on the sidelines! The team did a fantastic job motivating our football players while joining forces with alumni to perform some classic cheers.
